Quentin Snider Flips to Lousiville

The four star point guard made a last minute switch, flaking out on the Illini for Lousiville.

Well at least Illinois is still in the running for Cliff Alexander, who is supposed to announce his decision later today.

That's one way to spin the news of Snider's decommitment from Illinois. Another way to spin it is that the Illini could have faced scholarship  issues with the denied wavier for Starks this season (though transfers could have freed a spot). Also, rumors of a package deal with Jaquan Lyle following Cliff Alexander now could hypothetically be a possibility, a rare one at that, but still a possibility.

In case you weren't following, Snider originally committed to Lousiville before re-opening his recruitment. In a battle with UCLA, John Groce and the Illini won out on the four star point guard. Snider is rated as the 31st best player (per Rivals) in the 2014 recruiting class and was a major get for Illinois at the time. However, Snider informed Illinois he was decommiting and then signed his letter of intent to play at Lousiville.

It should also probably be noted that Snider is from Lousiville, possibly creating incentive for the hometown hero to stay put. Either way, if Illinois misses out on Cliff Alexander it'll be a major hit to a recruiting class that was one of the best in the conference.
