Indiana at Purdue: Boilermakers Run Over Rival Hoosiers, 67-53

For the fourth straight time on Tuesday, the Boilermakers of Purdue topped the Hoosiers of Indiana in one of the top rivalries in college basketball.

Purdue now leads the all time series with Indiana 111-84. The next time these two meet, it is bound to be a much closer matchup on February 23rd in Bloomington.

In this game, every time Purdue tried to run away with it, Indiana would crawl back in it. At one point Indiana gained their largest lead of four, before Purdue went on a 13-2 run to regain control of the game. Purdue never looked back. The Boilers finished the game opening up their largest lead of 14.

Indiana's Will Sheehey lead the Hoosiers with 14 points. Not far behind was Jordan Hull who had 13 and Verdell Jones III who had 10. Their leading rebounder was Derek Elston with seven boards.

Purdue's E'Twaun Moore looked more like himself in this game. After being in a shooting slump, 25 points and eight rebounds. On his birthday, JaJuan Johnson added 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Lewis Jackson had another good game for the Boilers, he had 13 points and 4 rebounds. Purdue a total of eight blocked shots in this game, which was very impressive.

Overall Purdue out-rebounded Indiana 34-28. The Hoosiers only got to the charity stripe seven times in this game compared to Purdue's 28.

Indiana tried hard in this game, and you could see it on the floor. They poured heart into this rivalry game. But Purdue is a tough place to win with a program in the state that Indiana's is.

The Boilermakers are now 8-3 in the Big Ten and 19-5 overall. They remain on pace with Ohio State. Indiana falls back under .500 at 12-13. They are 3-9 in the Big Ten.

Next up Purdue travels on Sunday to take on the Fighting Illini in Champaign. Indiana plays at Michigan on Saturday.
