Michigan State at Iowa: Hawkeyes Look For Upset Over Struggling Spartans

TIME / TV: 8:30 ET on Big Ten Network

When Iowa tips off at home today, they will be looking for a win that could be highlight of their season. It could also be catastrophic to Michigan State if they lose.

Looking at it, Indiana was beaten badly at Iowa as Iowa plays way better at home. That was the same Indiana team that only lost to Michigan State by one point last week, when Michigan State was at home.

I'm not going to talk about how Michigan State is struggling and is inching closer and closer to not making the NCAA Tournament, because we all know that, as we have heard it countless times.

Michigan State is lead by Kalin Lucas, who averages 17 points per game. Rebounding for the Spartans is lead by Draymond Green who averages eight boards per game, he also does a great deal in the scoring column, as he gets down low in the paint and averages 14 points per game.

Iowa had three players that could lead the team in scoring on any given night. Those players are Melsahn Basabe, who averages 13 points per game, Matt Gatens, who averages 12 points per game, and Bryce Cartwright who averages 10 points per game.

Iowa has two important things to take care of if they want to win the game. 1.. they have to rebound. They can't let Michigan State get second chance opportunities. 2... they have to take care of the ball. Turnovers will get you no where but a loss in this one. Make smart passes and don't get too excited.

With that said, Michigan State needs to rebound and force turnovers. Michigan State's offensive players need to get going. Michigan State should win this game. But, Iowa will surely not go down without a fight.
