This game took a lot of heart by Michigan. They rallied from a 13 point deficit in the second half to tie Kansas with under a minute to go in the game.
In overtime Kansas regained control after Michigan hit a big three to take the lead and never looked back.
Two men for Kansas had a double-double. Marcus Morris lead Kansas with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Markleff Morris has 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Tim Hardaway Jr. has 19 points and seven rebounds for Michigan. He had help from Darius Morris, who had 16 points and four rebounds and Zack Novak who had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Overall the rebounding battle was dead even at 41. Offensive rebounds were also dead even at 12.
You could look at this game in one of two ways. Either Michigan is really improved or Kansas really isn't all they are cracked up to be, at number three in the nation.
I think it may be a little of both. To me, over the course of this year, I have not seen the Kansas team that everyone sees. I believe they are only number three because 1) They are Kansas, and well you know, much like UNC, they are always good and 2) They are still undefeated.
I think Kansas will be exposed further down the line. It's a shame that Michigan couldn't get it done today.
Michigan is improving. I do see improvement for Michigan. If you can hang tough with a top ranked team on a rebuilding year, you must be doing alright.
