Michigan Vs. Wisconsin: Jordan Taylor, Jon Leuer Key Badgers' Win

Their opponents made headlines in another sport all day, but Jordan Taylor and Jon Leuer made sure they stole the show at night.

The pair stepped up big as Wisconsin (12-3, 2-1) defeated Michigan (11-4, 1-2) 66-50 at the Kohl Center on Wednesday night behind 20 points from Taylor and 17 by Leuer.

The two players combined to shoot 5-8 from 3-point territory and also grabbed eight rebounds each, pushing the Badgers over the top against an overmatched Michigan squad. Keaton Nankivil also played well for Wisconsin, adding 13 points and four rebounds of his own.

Zack Novak led the way for Michigan in the loss, scoring 15 points for the second straight game and pulling down 15 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. followed with 10 points and four rebounds and guard Darius Morris had a quiet night with eight points and two boards.

Michigan held a narrow lead through much of the first half, but with about 15:00 to play, Wisconsin grabbed the lead and never looked back. The Badgers out shot the Wolverines 47.7%-39.5% and beat them on the boards, too, by a 26-20 margin. Wisconsin also shot 47.4% from three point territory.

Next up for the Badgers will be Michigan State on the road this coming Tuesday. Wisconsin will have a few days to rest while the Spartans will have to travel to State College to face Penn State on Sunday.

Michigan will head out of conference for the last time this regular season on Sunday when the Wolverines host No. 3 Kansas on Sunday in Ann Arbor. Their next conference opponent will be No. 2 Ohio State this coming Wednesday.  It'll be a stern two game test for Michigan for sure.
