Big Ten Today: 1/3/2011

One Big Ten game today, which has the potential to be a great game!

#19 Michigan State(1-0) at Northwestern(0-1): (7:30pm ET Big Ten Network) --- This game is sure to be a good one. It is sure to be a close one. Northwestern is coming off a loss to Purdue while Michigan State looks to keep what they just put back together, from falling apart again. According to ESPN, Northwestern has a 56.5% chance of winning this game. This is a key game for Northwestern, if they want to be a contender they need this win. They do not want to end up like Minnesota at 0-2. Michigan State will be in a what should be a electric environment. Northwestern in also on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament right now, they need more top 25-ranked wins to get to the tournament for the first time in school history. It is very doable in a Big Ten that is loaded with great teams. No one in the Big Ten should take Northwestern lightly, because they are a dangerous team. Northwestern is easier to handle when they are on the road rather than when they are playing at home. I do think Northwestern wins this game by two points in a tight battle. Good luck to both teams! I am looking forward to it.
