Iowa has signed Fran McCaffery to a 7-year extension. According to Hawkeyesports.com, the deal guarantees the coach a minimum average of $1.66 million per year, beginning with a base salary of $1.3 million in 2012-13. That pushes him past Michigan's John Beilein, giving McCaffery the eighth-highest coaching salary in the conference. The Hawkeyes coach is 29-37 overall and 12-24 in the Big Ten over two seasons in Iowa City.
