BT Projected Order of Finish
Preseason Projected Order of Finish: Part 2
We're counting down from six to one today. To see numbers twelve through seven, check out Part 1. As with Part 1, we will hedge our bets by saying why each team might do better or worse than our prediction.
6. Illinois
Why they will finish 6th: Addition by subtraction. The Illini lose three seniors who have been a part of teams that have underachieved. Bringing in some fresh and talented newcomers will help get this program headed in the right direction.
Why they will finish higher: The four incoming freshman all ranked in the top 100 in most lists: Tracy Abrams, Mike Shaw, Myke Henry and Nnanna Egwu. Sam Maniscalco (PG transfer from Bradley), Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson will provide some experience to help the newcomers.
Why they will finish lower: If the freshman aren't ready to play at a high level, the loss of McCamey, Tisdale and Davis will be tough to overcome.
5. Michigan
Why they will finish 5th: Although they lost Darius Morris from last year's squad, Michigan has enough returning players and some promising freshmen that should keep them in the top half of the conference.
Why they will finish higher: The Wolerines finished last season with a great run, and Ohio Mr. Basketball Trey Burke should fill in nicely for Morris. Most of the other top teams from last season have lost more players than Michigan.
Why they will finish lower: If Burke doesn't start playing well immediately, Michigan might struggle to find someone to fill the point guard position.
Preseason Projected Order of Finish: Part 1
The exhibition games have already begun and the Carrier Classic is fast approaching. It is now time to gaze into the crystal ball and see what we think will happen in the upcoming season. No one can accurately predict the future, so we decided to give reasons why our predictions might not happen. Our bottom half of the conference follows in descending order.
12. Penn State
Why they will finish 12th: The Nittany Lions lost 80% of their starting lineup to graduation. Point guard Tim Frazier returns, but only two other returning players averaged ten minutes per game last season.
Why they will finish higher: Incoming freshman Trey Lewis and Ross Travis can make an immediate impact and some of the players that didn't get on the floor last year might step up and become solid contributors.
11. Nebraska
Why they will finish 11th: The move from the Big 12 to the Big Ten might be a tough one for the Huskers. Since we don't have a good idea of how Nebraska will handle the change, we'll put them here until they prove us wrong.
Why they will finish higher: Nebraska had a mediocre 7-9 record in the Big 12 last year, but they played tough at home. Nebraska was 17-2 at home last year, which included an upset win over then third-ranked Texas.
Why they will finish lower: Somebody has to finish last, and if they have a spate of injuries or other bad luck, it could be Nebraska.

FINAL Big Ten Projected Order of Finish
BT Powerhouse's final predictions of how the Big Ten will finish.
TOP TIER- Teams that remain in contention for the Big Ten title, entering the final week.
1.) Ohio State - Remaining Schedule: @ PSU, vs WISC. Final Projected BT Record: 16-2
- It won't be by any means easy for the Buckeyes, but I think they will indeed win at Penn State and at home, on senior night, against Wisconsin. The Buckeyes will be crowned with an outright Big Ten regular season title.
2.) Purdue - Remaining Schedule: vs ILL, @ IOWA. Final Projected BT Record: 15-3
- The Boilermakers have two games left that should be fairly easy, if they keep playing like they have been lately. Illinois is in desperation mode but, the Boilers win at Mackey on senior night. They will be hoping the Buckeyes will fall, but they instead finish second, and get the number two seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
- The Badgers should have one easy game left before heading into the huge showdown in Columbus against the Buckeyes. Ohio State is out for revenge and it's senior night. I think Wisconsin loses that game and finishes two games behind Purdue in third place.
Big Ten Projected Order of Finish (Post-Week 13)
Weekly predictions of how the Big Ten will finish.
TOP TIER- Teams that will make an big impact and have the best chances of winning the Big Ten title.
1.) Ohio State (11-0, 24-0) [ Last Projection: 1 ] - Ohio State's next game is at Wisconsin. I think if Ohio State wins that game, on the road at Wisconsin, although it will still mathematically possible for someone else to win the Big Ten, I think Ohio State will have locked the Big Ten regular season championship up. There only two road games after that are at Purdue and at Penn State. They might fall in one of those but that still gives Ohio State the Big Ten title. I don't think they will fall at home, so essentially, this is probably the most important game of the year for the Big Ten. If Ohio loses that game, it unlocks so many more opportunities for other teams to take advantage with Ohio State still having to play at Purdue and then Wisconsin a second time. The entire Big Ten excluding Ohio State will be cheering for the Badgers come Saturday. (Postseason Projection: NCAA Tournament)

Big Ten Projected Order of Finish (Post-Week 12)
Predictions of how the Big Ten will finish based off of the performances of the teams, week to week.
TOP TIER- Teams that will make an big impact and have the best chances of winning the Big Ten title.
1.) Ohio State (9-0, 22-0) [ Last Projection: 1 ] - No surprise here, again. They are still undefeated in both conference and overall. They are the number one team in the country. These are all things you hear again and again. I think Ohio State will fall in a game or two coming up in their remaining Big Ten schedule, but I think they still win the Big Ten. They did struggle at Northwestern, but every team struggles now and then. We will see if they can rebound as they take on arch rival Michigan at home this week before traveling to 20th-ranked Minnesota. (Postseason Projection: NCAA Tournament)

Big Ten Projected Order of Finish (Post-Week 11)
Predictions of how the Big Ten will finish based off of the performances of the teams, week to week.
TOP TIER- Teams that will make an big impact and have the best chances of winning the Big Ten title.
1.) Ohio State (7-0, 20-0) [ Last Projection: 1 ] - Ohio State is still number one both in the Big Ten and in the national rankings. They remain a very dangerous team, a team that is capable of running away with the Big Ten title. They were behind by eight at Illinois before going on a run to go ahead by eight and eventually win in Champaign. Ohio State should be tested again as tomorrow, they welcome Purdue to Value City Arena. That proves to be a very very important game for the conference race. If Purdue wins, they will be tied at the top with Purdue, and everyone else in the conference catches up one game. If Ohio State wins, they will have a two game lead in the Big Ten and will probably end up with the regular season crown. This week will say a lot about the Buckeyes. (Postseason Projection: NCAA Tournament)

Big Ten Projected Order of Finish (Post-Week 9)
Predictions of how the Big Ten will finish based off of the performances of the teams, week to week.
TOP TIER- Teams that will make an big impact and have the best chances of winning the Big Ten title.
1.) Ohio State (3-0, 16-0) [ Last Week: 1 ] - Ohio State remained undefeated this week. One can argue that they were tested for the first time this week. Where they beat Iowa and Minnesota by slim margins. Ohio State will remain here until they prove they don't deserve to be here. An undefeated record proves that they should be here. I do see Ohio State stumbling somewhere along the line in the Big Ten, which could jeopardize their number one spot. So far, the Buckeyes are holding strong. They are sure to be tested at the end of January when they face Illinois and Purdue is back to back games. Who knows, they could even be tested this week at Michigan. Michigan did hang tough and force overtime on a third-ranked Kansas team yesterday. (Postseason Projection: NCAA Tournament)

Big Ten Projected Order of Finish (Post-Week 8)
Predictions of how the Big Ten will finish based off of the performances of the teams, week to week. Check the postseason projections! The predicted NCAA Tournament seeds are in!
TOP TIER- Teams that will make an big impact and have the best chances of winning the Big Ten title.
1.) Ohio State (1-0, 14-0) [ Last Week: 1 ] - Ohio State continued to roll this week by downing Indiana on the road to start of on the right foot in the Big Ten. Ohio State continues to show dominance, which is why they have yet to move from the top spot. If Ohio State keeps playing like they are playing right now, the Big Ten is theirs to lose. Ohio State shouldn't take anything lightly, the top tier teams are still there and can attack at any time. Ohio State comes with a deadly force. They have so many scorers, it is truly hard to contain them all. Can someone stop them? (Postseason Projection: NCAA Tournament: 1 seed)
