As most of you who watched Sunday's game against OSU know, the much-hyped Wolverines looked completely lackluster for almost half the game, mainly because their main stars went missing. Burke didn't have a killer instinct. Stauskas was missing everything. Their bigs were almost nonexistent (a problem that is bigger than just one game). And Hardaway JR. couldn't carry the load alone. Plus, this was their first real test? That said, is this Adidas Official U of M "We're Back" T-Shirt really appropriate? Are the Wolverines really back, or are they just part of the hype machine?

The Minnesota Golden Gophers have agreed to a contract extension with Tubby Smith that will keep him on the sidelines through the 2016-2017 season.

There's certainly not an anti-Big Ten bias, because Cody Zeller is number one, while Aaron Craft seems really high at six. That says "best players" and not "best teams" right? No Tim Hardaway Jr., either.

Iowa has signed Fran McCaffery to a 7-year extension. According to Hawkeyesports.com, the deal guarantees the coach a minimum average of $1.66 million per year, beginning with a base salary of $1.3 million in 2012-13. That pushes him past Michigan's John Beilein, giving McCaffery the eighth-highest coaching salary in the conference. The Hawkeyes coach is 29-37 overall and 12-24 in the Big Ten over two seasons in Iowa City.

This really is a situation that got out of hand and was a bit overhyped by the media, but after talking to Jarrod Uthoff, Wisconsin athletic officials have agreed to lift all transfer restrictions except for Big Ten schools.. more understandable.
