As a follow up to the big debate we had last week on coaches, ESPN was very timely on their follow up. Jeff Goodman and crew polled two-thirds of the nation's D-I college basketball coaches and arrived at the top 25 most well respected in their field of employment. It is an Insider article, but I will post the Big Ten coaches who made the list.
1. Tom Izzo (41 votes) - The runaway vote getter in the nation and the conference.
2. John Beilein (24 votes)
13. Bo Ryan (7 votes)
T-14. Tom Crean (6 votes)
No other Big Ten coach made the top 25 (3 or more votes out of 300 total). Fun side note, Brad Stevens still received 14 votes that would have been good enough for 7th ahead of Mike Krzyzewski. The top 25 accounted for 253 of the 300 votes. So there are coaches floating around out there that at least received votes. At the bare minimum 24 other coaches did receive a vote from their peers.
