Big Ten Today: 12/22/2010

Three games today, MSU and Illinois will take on ranked teams while IU will take on UNI. These games promise to be entertaining. Kind of short post, but the Michigan State and Illinois previews will come, full-scale, later today. Feel free to comment here during the games, I'll be here.

#22 Texas at #12 Michigan State: 7:00pm ET (ESPN 2): Full preview to be posted later.

Northern Iowa at Indiana in The Las Vegas Classic: 7:30pm ET (CBS College Sports): Northern Iowa comes into this game at 7-3 with losses to Milwaukee, Iowa and Syracuse. Indiana comes in at 9-2 with losses to Boston College and Kentucky. Indiana should win this game, no problem. Indiana ranks 4th in the nation in field goal percentage and 29th in assists per game. UNI ranks 232nd in field goal percentage. This is not the Northern Iowa team we saw last year that upset one seeded Kansas in the NCAA tournament. It's a down year for Northern Iowa as well as the Missouri Valley Conference. They may do well in their conference, but this year I just don't think UNI has enough firepower and spark to upset a major team, especially one from the tough Big Ten. Indiana has yet to lose to a mid-major. I thought they would have slipped up to at least one. Will they pull out a win or get the mid-major loss on their record?

#10 Missouri at #21 Illinois in St. Louis: 8:00pm ET (ESPN 2):  Full preview to be posted later.
